Transforming History into Full Experiences: How MCMXXVI is Revitalizing the Legacy of the Safe Bus Company

For most of us, history is a dry recitation of facts and dates. It's stuff that happened before we were born—if it even happened in our own backyard. But what if there was a way to bring history to life? To turn the dusty pages of the past into something vibrant and alive?

That's exactly what JRich Ent is doing with their project MCMXXVI (1926). The Atlanta-based music and culture business is collaborating with designer Jordan Daniels to create new merch, music, and experiences inspired by the legacy of the Safe Bus Company. Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the first Black-owned busing company was founded in 1926 and operated until 1972.

During a time when access to opportunity was limited, Safe Bus represented Black ownership, resilience, and the power of building your own table when a seat wasn't offered. MCMXXVI is a storytelling project inspired by this legacy, transforming history into a full experience that goes beyond music and fashion.

"It's not just about creating new merch or music," says JRich. "It's about creating an entire world around the Safe Bus Company—a world that people can step into and experience for themselves."

To do this, JRich Ent is drawing on a range of creative disciplines, from music engineering to graphic design. They're working with local artists and musicians to create original content that tells the story of the Safe Bus Company in new and innovative ways. And they're using their platform to shine a light on a story that deserves to be remembered.

But MCMXXVI isn't just about looking back at history. It's also about looking forward, to a future where stories like this are told in ways that resonate with contemporary audiences. Where the past is not just preserved but reimagined and reinvigorated for a new generation.

"The Safe Bus Company was a symbol of resilience and determination," says JRich. "And we want to make sure that their story continues to inspire people today—and tomorrow."

So, what does this mean for the future of history? For JRich Ent, it means transforming history into full experiences that go beyond music and fashion. It means using creative disciplines to tell stories in new and innovative ways. And it means shining a light on stories that deserve to be remembered—and inspiring people to build their own tables when a seat isn't offered.

MCMXXVI may be inspired by the legacy of the Safe Bus Company, but it's not just about the past. It's about creating a future where history is alive and vibrant—where stories are told in ways that resonate with contemporary audiences. And where people can step into those stories and experience them for themselves.

In other words, MCMXXVI isn't just revitalizing the legacy of the Safe Bus Company. It's transforming history into full experiences—and showing us all what's possible when we bring the past to life.
